Does it work? Black Mud Masks Review

Black mud masks seem to have become quite popular lately. They advertise that they clean out all of your pores and you can instantly see the results (or remains on the strips). But do they really work? I tried out 2 products to see what all the fuss is about.
First I tried out Biore black pore strips. I had avoided these in the past as I was worried regular use would damage my pores. After wetting my nose I applied the strip. After a few minutes it dried rock hard. I carefully peeled the strip away slowly and gently. I did not feel any pain doing this. I could see my blocked pores were now on the strip. My nose was smooth and blackhead free. I really liked this method and will be using them again.

I purchesed my first black mud mask in Thailand. I thought it would be a nice, relaxing way to end my day. Unfortunalty it was quite the opposite. I applied the mask all over my face and waited for it to dry. The instructions showed a happy girl peeling off her mask with ease. Hmm...I obviusly did not have the magic trick to do this. Peeling it off was the most painful experience ever! I was in so much pain that I ended up washing it off in the shower as I couldn't handle the ripping any longer. My face was left red and sore. I tried using it again on a smaller area of my face but have never seen results like the pore strips. This is a product I won't be trying again.

I think from now on I will stick to my regular white clay masks as they are much more soothing on my skin. I like my pamper routines to be relaxing not painful!
